Hands-on training and experience The vocational department, which has provided a nnost inn- portant service to the students of Attleboro High School, con- tinues to be a nnajor element of the curriculum of the school. Vocational studies provide hands-on training and experi- ence in any of the occupation- al courses offered. The main goal of the occupational de- partment is to prepare stu- dents for gainful employment and to produce responsible members of the community. From past results, it is evident that the occupational depart- ment has successfully attained its goals and will continue to do so in the future. Proper wiring. Fads and fashions Remember Freshmen year? It was after the summer that we all saw the movie Flash Dance . So, it was only natu- ral for ripped sweatshirts and tank tops to become in , putting the preppy look to an end once and for all. Hairstyles stayed to basically the same. Feathering was still in, after all, who would be brave enough to change, certainly not a freshmen. Sophomore year, we became a little bit trendier with the ap- pearance of the Madonna style Lace stockings, lace tank tops, and lace hair bows be- came the new things to wear. Madonna had started a trend that was even apparent at our Sophomore Gathering. Mini prom dresses trimmed with lace were worn by all the girls making the gathering more of a formal affair. An idea whose time had come and which was to be carried on by the under- classmen to follow. What was to come Junior and Senior year? Well, let ' s just say that we did our own thing. Chances were taken and hair was shaved, spiked and jelled. Pants went tight, shirts and sweaters went big, and just Guess what happened to jeans? Hawaiian surf shorts and shirts became every day wear, so that when spirit week came around Hawaiian Dress Up Day was no more. Last but not least, were our precious Reeboks. Where would we be without a them? White, black, red, and pink, they came in practically any color magina- ble. What will we think of them in twenty years? Throughout our years at the high school, our sense of style has changed drastically. Styles have come in as fast as they ' ve gone out, but it is cer- tain that there ' s one thing that will never go out of style at A.H.S., and that is anything that is blue and white. - Senior Andrea Nunes Anita, attempting to master the American look!
