ELECTRICITY This is a three year course of training in the electrician trade. Both residential and industrial wiring, signal circuits, motors and controls and transformer connections are studied in depth in the school shop using modern instructional equipment in the investigation, measurement and recording of experiments process. The development of manual skills for the mechanical operations involved in the installation of the several wiring methods in building wiring and practical information on actual trade practices in building wiring is the first phase of this course. Signal systems installations, service, metering and distribution systems according to trade and local requirements, dynamo testing, repair and maintenance, motors, motor controls and transformer connections are then studied in sequence to complete the course. This is a three year course in quantity food preparation and is based on developing and preparing meals such as breakfast, luncheon, dinner, banquet, etc. The department is organized by stations such as vegetables, meats, cold meats, roasting and broiling, sauces and soups, frying, bread and pastry baking. Students rotate to the various stations during the year and in increasing depth of construction each year so that all phases of kitchen operations are experienced. A small restaurant type room is also part of this department. (Left to Right) Row I - Tom Hayes, Alayne Romikaitis, Tom Spinelli, Kenneth St. Don (Left to Right) Row 2-Richard Desmarais, Steve Harvey Joe Lameiros, Peter Cronin, Ronald Proulx, Bob Lumb The occupational Electronics Course offers, in a three year program, progression through a series of learning experiences necessary for entry level employment in the electronics field as a technician. An electronic technician applies electronics theory and testing procedures to layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair and modify electronic equipment of many kinds. Students use electronic learning kits to construct circuits and write laboratory reports. Chassis are fabricated from sheet metal Printed wiring boards are produced by photographic and chemical etch methods. Each student will construct and test several basic electronic units. This program also introduces students to the testing and repair of microprocessors and microcomputers. Repair of electronic equipment within the school system provides necessary work experience.
