'FD M . PETER KING, PRINCIPAL You have gone to school and graduated during a time when the activities and methods of teaching in the public schools of our country have been receiving much discussion and some criticism. It is true that our schools have changed in the course of a generation just as other organizations in our life and society have changed. You have been fortunate in attending a school which is rather formal and traditional in operation and has not turned too far up the road marked, nModern.N This school believes that a pupil's experience should be, primarily, one of learning and that teachers are employed and directed to teach the students. The preparation of lessons, regular attendance and good conduct are considered basically sound in the train- ing of every individual. Each of you has progressed under this system. I urge you to recall your school experiences in the years directly ahead and weigh carefully those that were of greatest value to you. What would you change in our system? How would you improve its opportunities? Your answers will help direct plans for the growth and progress of our school system in whatever changes are to be made.

MR. VICTOR H. BLOM .-5 fy-F ff 5 C 7 if m if X ..2!.... ,X 8 K X f QQ 4.- V The first Board of Officials for the Central School District was elected in June, 1953. The elected officials include President, Murlin W. Seligmang Vice-President, Edwin Francis, Victor Andrews, Clerk, Burt F. Dis- browg and Victor Andrews, Irvin E. Domes, Albert Joller, Mrs. Mary Perl and Ainsworth Sondericker. Their primary duties are employment of teachers and other school personnel. They determine policies for the school year and plan the budget and expenditures for the districts. The big problem immediately ahead of them is the planning of a building program for the district. This Board faces numerous responsibilities. Among many, the largest is to accommodate the parents, faculty and students of this area. It is only through our cooperation that they can make our educational program a successful one. STANDING: Andrews, Domes, Joller, Sondericker, Francis SEATED: Disbrow, Seligman, Mrs. Perl

' VICEE e dgk E gf MRS. JOYCE - JAMES Fox 2 .....i Y xc' Our office staff - the most important part-- Xfff - golly, it's hard to write an article about our office . and health staffs. They are certainly two of the busiest groups in the school. People walk in and 4 out of the office a hundred times a day asking for simple little things that they could perfectly well do for themselves.- These minor annoyances only serve ' to drive Miss Beglinger and Mrs. Haupt-man to the madhouse. Mrs. Joyce may join them on their Journey, --::.,,, after coping with the sick kids running down and the tardy ones or the school skippers running in. Mrs. Henneberg helps hold fort in the last half of the year. She's our Dental Hygienist. Whatever anyone thinks, we like our staffs and wish them all the luck in the world. swam 25 55 10
