FOREWORD The Torch Staff of Attica High School takes great pride in presenting to you the 1948 edition of our yearbook. Now that we. the Seniors, are leaving our sheltered life in these glorious halls. we begin to realize that our lot in this upset world will not be an easy one. With war ravaging some parts of the world and threatening our own country, we must be prepared for what ever is to come, to defend our great democracy. The Torch that our Goddess of Liberty holds high must not and will not fall. Our education Jjere in Attica High has not failed us in that respect. Through sports, clubs and class activities we have truly learned the real meaning of cooperation. We have had the value of preparedness instilled in our minds, and feel certain that it will be of most important help in meeting our future problems. W e can look back on our years with smiling eyes and faces. Thoughts of good times come hack to us; of dances, plays, basketball, soccer and baseball games, proms, balls and every other activity we have engaged in. Every heart saddens a little when we think of leaving high school, but in future years, we know we shall point with pride to Attica High School and be able to claim her as our Alma Mater. » 'J
