We elected Edward Schmidt as our president and were given the careful assistance of Miss Sadler, Miss French and Mr. Barons. The biggest event of the year was our Freshman party, which was a huge success. As Sophomores, we elected Mary Lou Suess as President. We held a get-together party in the beginning of the year, followed by two dances, which helped fill our treasurery. During our Sophomore year both the boys and girls participated in extra-curricular activities around school and gained ourselves a fine reputation as an active class. X ith the aid of Mrs. McKinstry, Miss McCarthy and Miss Kennedy, we completed a very pleasant and successful year. Now. as up and coming Juniors, we elected Jeraldine Willard as president, Barbara Wilson as Vice President. Jean Rifenburg as Secretary, Norman Ripstein as Treasurer, Shirley West and Irving Beitz as class Representatives. Mr. Crandall was selected as class advisor. Vie have held two dances, both of which were successes. Music for each was furnished by the Vi yoming VI oodchoppers’’. X e are planning another sometime in the Spring. Also during the Spring we are looking forward to the Junior Play, the Junior Prom and finally the Junior-Senior Banquet. Vi e have held one bake sale which was an overwhelming success and we plan to have another in the near future. This year as Juniors has been a very successful one. Vie gratefully extend our thanks to our advisor, Mr. Crandall for his excellent help in making this year an eventful one and helping us pave the way for our forthcoming year as Seniors. 24

CLASS OF President........... Vice President...... Secretary........... T reasurer.......... Girl Representative. Boy Representative. .. .Carol Cooper ...George Rice Shirley Balhizer .....Leo Brady ...Beverly Glor ....Bob George As freshmen we, the class of 1950. elected the following officers: President. Webber Grilfin; Vice President. Leo Brady; Secretary, Muriel Spencer; Treasurer, Carol Cooper; Girl Representative, Jean Geise; and Boy Representative, George Rice. With help from our advisors; Mrs. Crandall, Mr. Fox. and Mr. Parons. our officers organized a party, a hay ride, and an assembly. The assembly was packed with laughs, talent, and good all around entertainment. The party will remain in the minds of all who attended as a very joyful night. As Sophomores, we entered our second year with enthusiasm and zest spurred on by our accomplishments as freshmen. We elected officers at our first class meeting and everyone agrees that our officers are among the best to be had. Our plans include a bake sale, an assembly and a Spring Dance. We hope that activities will swell our treasury, besides providing everyone with a good time. Our Class has been well represented in the extra-curricular activities such as sports, clubs, plays, glee club, orchestra and others. We were well represented on the Junior Varsity Basketball team. We all wish to extend our thanks to our class advisors; Miss Kennedy, Mrs. Crandall, and Miss Cooney, who have helped us plan our dance, assembly and bake sale. We all agree that with their help, advice, and instruction we have had a pleasant, enjoyable, and profitable year. We hope that next vear as Juniors, we will be as successful as in the past two ears. It is the high aim of all of us to use the Sophomore Class not only as a stepping stone toward our goal as Seniors but also as a place to set new records for our class. 26
