Geraldine Willard .. .Barbara Wilson ....Jean Rifenburg .Norman Ripstein ....Shirley West ....Irving Beitz Standing: Norman Ripstein, Shirley West. Sitting: Barbara Wilson, Geraldine Williard, Jean Rifenburg. JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY When we, the class of 1949. entered High School as shy Freshman; we were weak but progressive. We elected Edward Schmidt as our president and were given the careful assistance of Miss Sadler, Miss French and Mr. Barons. The biggest event of the year was our Freshman party, which was a huge success. As Sophomores, we elected Mary Lou Suess as President. We held a get-together party in the beginning of the year, followed by two dances, which helped fill our treasurery. During our Sophomore year both the boys and girls participated in extra-curricular activities around school and gained ourselves a fine reputation as an active class. X ith the aid of Mrs. McKinstry, Miss McCarthy and Miss Kennedy, we completed a very pleasant and successful year. Now. as up and coming Juniors, we elected Jeraldine Willard as president, Barbara Wilson as Vice President. Jean Rifenburg as Secretary, Norman Ripstein as Treasurer, Shirley West and Irving Beitz as class Representatives. Mr. Crandall was selected as class advisor. Vie have held two dances, both of which were successes. Music for each was furnished by the Vi yoming VI oodchoppers’’. X e are planning another sometime in the Spring. Also during the Spring we are looking forward to the Junior Play, the Junior Prom and finally the Junior-Senior Banquet. Vi e have held one bake sale which was an overwhelming success and we plan to have another in the near future. This year as Juniors has been a very successful one. Vie gratefully extend our thanks to our advisor, Mr. Crandall for his excellent help in making this year an eventful one and helping us pave the way for our forthcoming year as Seniors. 24
