DONALD WELLMAN BETTY WISE Don “For he's a jolly good fellow.” EDITH WILSON Edie “Good daughters make good mothers.” DENNIS ZEHLER Den “All the women in the world would not make me lose an hour. Betty “By time and toil, we attain what most we wish to gain.” CHRISTINE WLODAR Sally “My thoughts are of another world.” OTHER SENIORS CLARA HACKETT FRED INGLIS GRAHAM STANGROVER I.EONARDA TRZECIESKI CLASS HISTORY As silly freshmen, our class started its first year in high school with high goals towards the future. Under the excellent supervision of Miss French, Miss Sadler and Mr. Gilbert, we elected a competent staff of officers and set out to make our green horn year one long to be remembered. The climax of the year was our freshman party which proved to be a big success. We entered our Sophomore year with renewed enthusiasm and with thoughts of being something in the school. The two big events of the year were our round and square dances which were good for making money and bringing our class into the limelight. Lewis Smith led the class through a very successful year with the advice of Miss McCarthy and Miss Kennedy. On to our Junior Year and a rank of being upper classmen. Although our first two years were both happy and successful, the next two proved to be the best with added responsibilities and much more fun. Eugene Searle showed his abilities as an excellent president and Mr. Crandall proved to be an able advisor. One of the most memorable events of the year was our Junior play “Look Who’s Here under the direction of Miss McCarthy. Also to be remembered was the Junior Prom which took place in May. Everyone had a wonderful time and all in all the Prom was a huge success. Later in May we Juniors gave our toast to the Seniors at the Junior-Senior Banquet. We began the last year in our Alma Mater with the election of Class Officers. Again Lewis Smith was chosen to be our leader. Sue Nordin proved to be a good assistant and Vice President. Verla Welker took care of the secretarial department and Ellen Schreiber managed the money. To represent us on the Student Council we chose Jo Conway and Bill Leonard. By many successful projects such as the sale of magazines, the sale of seeds, our Ball and our play, There’ll Come A Day” we ended up our career in Attica High School wealthy both in wisdom and financially. And now as we leave Attica High, we the Class of 1948 wish to extend our thanks to Mrs. Ranger, and all our other friends and advisors for their guidance through the years. 17
