it WE APPRECIATE OUR PRINCIPAL EDGAR A. KING During the school year 1946-47, schools throughout the nation have received an abundance of publicity. Some of the most ardent proponents of education have led the public to believe that schools are a cure-all for all of the economic and social ills of our day. Schools can help in these matters but they must be sustained by such good forces as home and church. Further, and most important, education can only succeed when students have the will and determination to develop their God-given talents to their utmost efhciency. The citizens of Attica, the Board of Education, and the faculty of Attica High School find their greatest satisfactions in helping students grow in mind, body and spirit. You reflect honor on them when you grow in strength and wisdom and in favor with God and man. Edgar A. King 6

We have indeed benefited from the unselfish accomplishments of the tireless members. Without them, this high school could not be run in unison and order. These people receive no salary, doing everything for the good of the school. The hours they spend at meetings discussing the many school activities are given without thought of reward. If it were not for them, our fine public speaking system, of which we are so proud, would not be here. Many of their projects are for comfort as well as scholastic value. The interviewing and appointment of teachers is another of their many jobs. lt was a hard task for them during the war scarcity. Our fine teaching staff is an example of their good judgment. Every high school in this country is run under the supervision of Educational Boards. Attica can really be satisfied with theirs. Its services have been many. Indeed, when we sum up all the things that the Board of Education has done for us, we all feel very proud to think of them as an important part in our schooling. We really appreciate their achieve- ments and works. The whole student body of Attica High School joins together to express their thanks to these men and women who have greatly influenced their important high school years. i 5
