The Mixed Chorus is composed of sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are chosen from those who take voice tryouts at the beginning of the year. Definite musical talent, good voice quality and ability to carry harmony parts are requirements for membership. The Mixed Chorus is in the High School curriculum and meets a full period each school day. The work includes a study of voice technique with emphasis on development of correct breathing, diction, jaw position, and production of tone. The chorus presents a fall concert in collaboration with the band, appears for several numbers on the Christmas program each year, participates in district Choral festival, and enters chorus contests each year. A boys' and girls' chorus is formed from the mixed chorus which also goes to contests. The girls' chorus is exceptionally good this year and Won first division, along with the mixed chorus. 23
