The President was James Martin, Vice-President, Paul 0'doreg Secretary, Patty Annog Treasurer, Leticia Weigle. We selected for our motto, Today Decides Tomorrow. The American beauty rose was chosen as our class flower, and the class colors were the trasitional colors of red and white. Our first activity as a class was our first party on October 10, which was a weiner roast. It was held at Hockey Forge. . On March 28 and 29, the Seniors presented their vaudeville. This consisted of four big acts and was called i'Fun's A Poppin' . The vaudeville, under the direction of Mrs. Harriet McGuire, was a huge success. For our last class get-together, we had a treasure hunt, chili supper, and dancing party rolled up in one on April 18. Every- one had an enjoyable evening. We took a two day trip to St. Louis on May 23 and 24. This trip shall always be one of the pleasant memories of our Senior year. We feel that our Senior year has been very successful, and we wish to thank our sponsors, Mr. Daugherty and Mr. Harbison, for all the help and cooperation they have given us. 10 Bales, Arvin Lynn-H . Their lives are still being molded by their teachers and their parents. It will not be long before they are graduating from grade school, then high school, and perhaps-colleges. 34 Cfaoo 5'w.pFzecg, While relaxing in my chartreuse evening chair designed by the renown Jeanie Leath, my thoughts turned to my former classmates. I have just completed a new space ship designed for the purpose of visiting my old classmates on the planet earth. I have been here on the planet Pluto these many long years since a chem- istry experiment conducted by Yolanda McKinney back in the Attica High School Chemistry Lab. propelled me into space. The hands on the clock near zero hour, the time is at hand. The motors roar as I am tlu'ust out into space on the first leg of my journey. My first stop is Saturn to refuel. I flash to a stop at the fuel pumps of the new Super Service Station operated by Eddie Fellure. I questioned Eddie about some of my old friends and to my sur- prise he told me that Joe Wilson was now president of the Zepher Train Lines here on Saturn. While discussing Joe's success, the new Super Chief fire engine roared by, and there at the wheel was none other than my old classmate Arvin Bales. He waved but could not stop because he had to get to the fire. Being hungry, I hailed the Torpedo, a new streamlined cab, and behind the wheel .was Marilyn Carney. After telling her that I was in quest of an eating I glanced at place, she suggested The Metorite, owned and operated by Kay Bratton, where they serve the best green-cheese sandwich in all the universe. There in the and Dick Boyce, After losing back room I sat in for a hand of poker with Ace Kincade the card kings of Saturn. all of my possessions, but ,my space ship I drifted into the famous, North Quick Service Loan Company operated by Russell North. After obtaining a loan through space I Pearson, Sophia Youth Club. It again in politics. of five hundred diamonds I resumed my journey. While drifting saw attached to a star, a huge sign saying Vote for Virginia VanDame, and joan Snider, co-chairmen of the Universal Rural was evident then that these prominent, old maid farmers were the fuel .guage and since it registered empty I decided to stop and refuel. I stopped at an isolated fuel station and there with the fuel hose in one hand, looking very sickly and weak, stood Richard -Hallett. Worry and grief had worn him down to a measly 96 lb. weakling. He had been in constant grief since his wife Ahretta Bass had left him for Lawson Gray. Looking through my window, I saw that the only other establishment in sight was the Spacelite movie theater managed by Paul O'dore. On the bill for the night was the idol of the bobby-soxers, Jn Cuddles Jones, and standing in front polishing the box office was the ever-glamorus Nancy Johnson. She was doing a thriving ticket sale. While walking across the street I was narrowly missed by John Toemer in his hopped up Jaguar, but Jerry Gustus running a close second ran me down. The Cash and Carry Ambulance Service operated by Don Opperman rushed me to the hospital. When the fog cleared I awoke in a spotless hospital bed, and standing over me was John-I-Cuttum-Quick-Brooks, on his right stood his capable wife and nurse, Mary Ruth Fewry. While still in a daze I asked Dr. Brooks if he would have to operate.'I said, Doctor, what will you take out? A strange gleam came into his eyes and he said, Oh, don't worry, we shall thing of something before morning. But luckily Doctor Brooks could think of nothing to remove, and l was dismissed. 35 Qeotinaticn pfww I continued on my journey and approached the planet Venus, the star of beauty. There in neon lights was a sign advertising, Kirby Beauty Salon. Through the window I saw janet Pearl dyeing Mary Timm's hair to abright green, the latest fashion on Venus. Over the wireless receiving set I heard the familiar v0iC8 of Adene Fox Nelson singing Come on to My House, Adene is the defending champion in this Fountain County hog-calling contest. ller able competitor for this year is Marie Livengood. While strolling through the park I heard Sidney Clover's Trumpeteersn featur- ing Bernard Martin in t.he Chicken Song. I went on to the local hot-spot owned by John Koekenberg. For the feature dance he was employing the famous dance team Weigle and Wall. They had been married by Reverend Bob White six months after they graduated from high school. lieverend White told me that one of the most unsuccessful marriages he had per- formed was that of Joan Woods who was divorced after twenty-two days of married life. Reverend White is doing a thriving business on the planet of beauty. I resumed by joumey to earth, and arrived just in time for the final running of the Kentucky Derby. There I was welcomed by Arlie Horse Tinder, owner of the finest breed of race horses in the world. He pointed out his number one jock- ey, Larry Ilabb, sitting astride a beautiful chestnut stallion. I heard the voices of Bob Lighty and Bob Babb selling popcorn through the crowd. They waved to me as they went by. I looked for my old friends Darrell Mellinger and Wayne Fagg Foster, butI discovered that they had joined the Mars Rocket Corps. They had always been military minded. After the Derby I returned to the town of my youth, Attica. There Ifound none other than Master Mechanic Bill Clark working in the Chevrolet Garage. hlarcia Nelson is now champion of the Attica Marble Shooters Club. She took up marble playing to occupy her mind since Junior and Marie Miss America Kochell ran away to be married on Saturn, the movie capital of the universe. All in all our senior class has turned out to be a very successful group, con- trary to opinions of some of the members of the 1952 Faculty. Gray S Safety, .T The School Safety Patrol is an organization of selected boys from the upper elemen- tary grades and high school who help their schoolmates to avoid street traffic accidents. The patrol's job is to remind children of safety rules learned in the classroom and see that they cross streets only when there is a sufficient lull in traffic so that they may cross in safety. The Patrol was organized in 194-3 by Mr. Norman, who is the present sponser, and has served very effective ever since. The school patrol receives much co-operation from the P.T.A. and the local police. The P.T.A. has furnished raincoats and equipment while the city gives as an award a show pass each week to each boy. City officials realize the value of effective Patrols and give them much moral support. 49 QM ' .73 ui Left to right, E. Cloyd, V. Koekenhergg M. Morgan, Miss Felder, M. Kochell, J. Woods, B. Although they fought hard all the way and tried to do their best, they just couldn't get enough touchdowns. The moral of the boys decides whether we win. The Ramblers were under the capable coaching of Mr. Suttle. We also had a fine Freshman-Sophomore Team.
