KCDLUIVIINI ELECTED MAYOR CELEBRITY IN ATTICA Friday afternoon of last week Bob VVallace, accomplished mem- ber of Spike Jones' orchestra, talked to the jive jumpin' youth of Attica. The talk was given in the new Firemen's hall. The youth of Attica may obtain a copy of Mr. Wallace's speech by calling at Betty Osborn's Nut Shop next door to Dick Crane's Cigar Store. Accepts Position in Rob Roy Billy Lee Ottinger has taken a position as tiddly-winks coach at Rob Roy's new high school. Miss Sarah Feuerstein is employed at the same high school as head of the Chemistry Department. It is rumored that these two college graduates will maintain their pre- vious relationship from high school days. Opens on Broadway Lea Newmark and her Dancing Dozen will open next week on Broadway for a year's run. Miss Newmark has an entirely new cast this year selected from the top- notch dancers of this country. The wardrobe was purchased at Pe- tunia's Custom House and de- signed by none other than Madam Carolyn Irwin and her personal staff. Tobacco Topics News has reached us from Ha- vana that G. E. Ebbertt, alias principal of Attica High School , is now employed in the art of roll- ing cigars. Page Twenty-three DORNBLASER VS. MILLIONAIRE Miss Betty Dornblaser plans to sue the town's only millionaire, Dean Mickle, for damaging a truck used in her business. Miss Dornblaser was making her daily calls of picking up people's trash and was backing from the drive- way of one of Attica's leading cit- izens when the Mickle Cadillac came speeding down the street and hit the truck. Keith Smith, Mr. Mickle's chauffeur, acknowledged the fact that he was speeding and it is quite certain that Miss Dorn- hlaser will win her case. She is su- ing for 95 cents so as to buy enough paint to'cover damages. Play-Howling Sensation Miss Kate Cane's drama stu- dents presented for the public a new dramatical play entitled Snow Again-I didn't Get the Drift. Critics say this play is des- tined for Broadway and will make Miss Cane and her cast famous for years to come. The opening performance was presented at the Morgan Opera House. Mr. Gerald Morgan truthfully stated that nothing as dramatic would ever top the publicity his theater has received for this. LAUNDRY SERVICE Ching Waug Rater falias Bet- tyj wishes to announce the open- ing of a Chinese Laundry. Her as- sistant will be Wang Wang John- son Calias Joanj. Anything will be washed and cleaned with complete eificiency. Old Maicl's Home Raideci Official Adrian Verhey was called to jo Ann Henry's home for Old Maids in Covington last week when Paul Lamb tried to persuade Miss Ruth Carter, one of Miss Henry's guests, to elope with him. Upon inquiry as to how Mr. Lamb would support Miss Carter, he re- plied, I figured we could run a chicken farm. After hearing this, Miss Carter tiatly refused. To be near the woman he loved, Mr. Lamb is making plans for building a Home for Bachelors across the street from the Old Maids' Estate. Completes Encyclopedia Ray Shaffer has sent us word that he has accomplished a goal which he started when he was in Attica. Mr. Shaffer stated that he will never regret the strict atten- tion he paid to his school work back in his high school days. As most of us know, his goal was to write. So if you are interested in buying a set of these books you may do so by contacting Miss Helen Young, who handles sales in Attica. We congratulate Mr. Shaf- fer on his accomplishment.
