KILRCDVS SP Wedding at A.H.S. Gym An impressive ceremony took place in the Attica High School gym last Saturday night, uniting Virginia Clark and Lawrence De- Sutter in holy matrimony. Rever- end Barbara Johnson conducted the ceremony. Joy Perrin served as maid of honor, with Florence Furr and Freda Grady as brides- maids. Gene Montgomery served as best man. The bride and groom were at- tired in riding apparel. The oth- ers were completely formal. Before the ceremony Bernice Taylor sang There Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens , and aft- erwards Mary Ann Serie danced to the Donkey Serenade. Cate Society at Steam Corner Finally Arvilla Bossaer formerly of Attica High School, has put a portion of her Home Ec. course to use. Last Friday marked the opening of Arvilla's Cozy Tea Room, featuring Don C Gabriel D Martin and his Brass Tooters , who have traveled over several counties of this state. Arvilla will manage the business alone, with Clara Bossaer as head waitress. ELECTION FINALS The recent heated election for mayor of Attica is now ended. Spike Schmidt has been elected by a majority. Betty Bratton, her suc- cessful campaign manager, will continue to be her right hand as- sistant. KE SCHM Flag Pole Sitting Revised Miss Mary Carolyn Peck has re- vised the long lost art of flag- pole sitting. After years of prac- ticc, Miss Peck is now ready for public appearance. Her manager is Berdena Franklin. Classmates Meet in Puerto Rico VVord has been received from Norma Beedle, now in Puerto Rico working in a hospital as head nurse, that she attended a very in- teresting lecture given by a woman doctor. You can imagine Miss Beedle's surprise when she found the doctor to be Betty jo Richie, an old classmate. Author to Visit Attica J a m e s Scoop McCracken, sports editor of the nation, has re- cently published a book on good sportsmanship. He has kindly con- sented to speak to the young men of Attica interested in sports. Many of his old classmates won- der if he will be as shy about speech-making as when he was a Senior way back in '47, Famous Artist to Visit India No doubt all of us have seen the lovely paintings by Bob Young. This famed artist will leave the country next week for a trip to India. Mr. Young gained fame by his paintings of detention halls. he will leave from New York on a new passenger liner with John Stonebraker as captain. DT Honored on Breakfast Program Many schoolmates of Phyllis Knowles Clark were surprised to hear her voice on a radio program from Hollywood. She won a prize for being the best-dressed house- wife in the audience. The program was sponsored by Maybe Rit pens, invited by Free- da Allen. Miss Marilyn Daugherty is employed by this program to sing the advertisements. We were all glad to hear from Phyllis, as when she and Chet took their honeymoon directly after graduation from high school they headed for California and never came back. New Super Service Station Robert Lee Pritscher will soon announce the opening oi his new Super Service Station. The station will be located in Ravine Park for the unfortunate young people that run out of gas there. Mr. Pritscher will run the business single-hand- ed except for one person, Arthur Eugene Roscoe Clark, who has been hired to display his talents in wiping windshields. New Funeral Parlor at Michigan City Word was received today through the M. C. Hareld that a former resident of Attica, Miss Joanna Leath, has opened an un- dertaking establishment. Her in- terior decorator and cothn design- er is Miss Priscilla Kerr. Her head embalmer is Devon Sorters, also a former resident of Attica. Page Twenty two
