ENGLISH LANGUAGES Wallace Nethery The two hundred and seventy-four students enrolled in the English department learn through various writing ond speech courses to live with words, to feel their power. Since no art is more immedia ' e in its utility or broader in its appeal than the art of Literature, the students are encouraged through its study to taste the inspiration of the past and thus build more stalely mansions of soul and character, then to let the bucket down into the well oi their own hearts and see whether they can bring up living waters.
