i The Beat Goes On I'll blow my brains out . . tl for the Trojan Heacl's dedication. Marching band members wait nervously for the signal to start at iink Laurin Nisson and Mike Wolfe as the band plays Marching band had its L' fl and bad moments. The Lario re-A ceived a ln at State I'-uiarching Contest, marched in the rainy Homecoming Parade, and even endured the Htweet, tweet, sput- ter of drum-major Mark Reim- er's whistle at 7:30 practices on cold fall mornings. To boost AHS school spirit, the band played for the Trojan Head ded- ication ceremony, marched at home football games, and lined up to welcome the Trojans onto the field. Frequently on morn- ings of home games, the band played On Atlantic in front of the school. Later in the year, the Pep Band played at pep assemblies, wrestling meets and basketball games. During their last per- formance, seniors took over the directing with songs like Proud Mary, Hawaiian VVar Chant, and Hogan's Heroes. Early in the spring, the Stage Band featured jazz and modern music in their performances in March and May. The Stage Band introduced the sounds of their new electric guitar to the atmos- phere of a sidewalk cafe in the first performance of the year. They were joined by the choir and the Concert band to make Stage Show a success.
