Elegance Deminates the Atmosphere of Prom '73 The 1973 Junior-Senior 'Prom was held on April 28 with the theme Sat- urday Night at the Movies. The open- ing event was Pre-Prom, which was held at the Elk's Club from 7:30 to 8:30. Couples then attended the formal dance, which began with the Grand March at 9:05. Iuniors carried out the theme bly using scenes from academy award winning movies. Children provided music from 'Chicago' and 'Santana' un- til 12:00. Shamus, the movie, began at 1:00 a.m. allowing time for the couples to rest from dancing. After the movie, the upperclassmen proceeded to The Late, Late Show, which headlined the Golf and Countrv Club festivities. Luck was tested on bingo, black jack, and other games of chancel Door prizes were donated by various stores. Break- fast was served at 5:30 a.m., after which seniors retired for the rest of the day, and juniors retumed to the high school to tear down their Saturday Night at the Movies. X X

Kristine VVickman's senior year was spent in Perth, Australia under AFS. Staying with the Stan Bradburys, Kris- tine commented that they were very nice, and she enjoyed their high pitched accents. Kristine attended the high school which David Krasnostein also at- tended. During the summer, Patrice Dimig lived in Saulgau, Germany. Patrice sum- med up the trip as a fantastic dneamu, for she did not know about leaving un- til thirteen days before departure. She spent much time traveling and was even lucky enough to see the Olympic Park in Munich. Dany Benedetti came from Florence, Italy in August to live with the Marion Reimer family. Jello, peanut butter, and bugging were a few things Dany liked to do in America. In December, Dany's father was able to come anti sisit her. Living with the Kenneth Huitt family, David Krasnostein of Perth, Australia was an old veteran in school this year, as he had attended AHS the year! be- fore. Australia received a fractured middle finger to remember his great times in gym class. Kristine Wickman lived with the Krasnostein family when David went home. Irene Arosemera of Sona, Panama came to Atlantic through the sponsor- ship of the Catholic Church. Along with learning English, Irene likedhelp- ing others with their Spanish. While staying with the john Weresh family, Irene came to like hamburgers. Nancy Neary spent her summer in Campos, Brazil. She lived with a fam- ily of five brothers and one sister. In Brazil the season was winter, but the temperature was very warm. Nancy attended a private Catholic school in August during her stay. Angela Rocha, coming from Forteleza, Brazil, stayed with the Dan Merrick family. Homecoming, Angela described, was very emotional as they have noth- ing like this in Brazil. The first snow here in November amazed Angela as no snow falls in Brazil.
