Vaulting the horse and executing flips on the mini-tramp were only two of the numerous activities that the GRA girls enjoyed participating in during the 1969-70 school year. They met on Tuesday evenings with their sponsor, Miss Heflin, who was aided by Mrs. Lundgren. Besides gymnastic feats, the members scampered through many vig- ' orous games of volleyball and basket- ball, slugged lots of homers, and re- I ceived frost-bitten noses from sleigh-rid- ing. The GRAers also romped through ' many games of battleball, and tickled and tackled their ways through stren- uous scooter soccer games. The girls at'- tended activities such as district play day and the championship game of the Girl's State Basketball Tournament at Des Moines. Diane Campbell headed the Library Club for the 1969-70 school year. Each of the girls belonging to the club as- sisted Mrs. Miller, .their sponsor, for at least one hour per week in the library. Besides these duties, the girls enjoyed four social events during the year. The girls chosen to plan the Library's Club's activities are: Diane Campbell, janet Collinson. Vicki VerSteegh, Kathy Ostrus, and Marcia Tumer. Both Studious And Exhilarating Glueing in date due cards, Marsha Tumer does her part of helping in the library. Science Club Promotes Di The Science Club under the leader- ship of President Paul Knop and ad- visor, Mrs. Beaver, had 19 members. This year the Science Club heard ai talk on radioactivity by Mr. Iespersen, mensions In Science viewed the stars with a telescope from the roof of AHS, and planned and ar- ranged the gym for the Science Exhibit.
