For some, this year has marked the beginning of a new phase on their journey through lifeg for others, it means the completion of this phase and the preparation for still higher attainments. For everyone, this year has held the opportunity to participate in what the Atlantic High School has to offer. We have assembled this book with the hope that, in the years to come, it will help you remember and relive your experiences here at AHS. In a few short years your life here will be only memories. On these pages you will find those very memories--the informal after-game dances, the crowded cafeteria line, the exciting week of homecoming, the big conference games, the shouts and laughter in the halls between classes, instrumental groups practicing in the band room, the cheerleaders and their noisy pep assemblies .......... All these are the memories that will live forever in your hearts and will be cher- ished in years to come. We hope you will keep this book and that each year you will tum the pages and recall your pleasant associations at AHS. Phyllis attended the eighth and ninth grades here in Atlantic High School with this year's Xsenior class. She was very active in church and community affairs. F.H.A. and G.A.A. were among her school acti- vities. Phyllis' ambition and sunny outlook on life will always be re- membered by those whh knew her. 5 WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER - - - E BILL TEMPLETON Bill Templeton will long be remembered in the hearts of both students and faculty of A. H. S. Mr. Templeton coached the junior high boys until last year and then because of poor health, gave it up. Bill taught eighth grade civics and seventh grade science. He was also in charge of the school buses. Because of Mr. Templeton's great interest in hobbies, especially fish and dogs, he got many of his students interested in hobbies of their own. Mr. Templeton was a great help and inspiration. He always had a friendly smile and a pleasant word for everyone. Our community and school has lost a great man. lt is the wish of the staff to commemorate this page in his honor. 6 3 K H I if 5 SUPERINTENDENFS MESSAGE For the past four years you have been living in the world of the school, the home, the church, and the community. During this time you have made an appraisal of your interests, aptitudes, abilities, and personality and have form- ulated a set of values by which you will live. As teachers, one of our goals is that your set of values includes the knowledge that the moral structure of your community is determined by the total of all the forces at work in the school, home, church, and community, and that the community is at its best when in- dividuals have chosen the highest standards by which to live.
