As the members of the class of 1960 draw nearer the date of their graduation, the realization must grow upon them that a most significant change in their life pattern is about to take place. For some it will be the end of preparatory education, and the beginning of the higher education level toward which the past four years have been aimed. For others, the transition will be to the very real problems of the working world, or of the home- maker. Regardless of which way the path of life may lead from the portals of A.C.H.S., the members of the class of 1960 may feel that they embark upon it with better than the average chance for success. Over the years, your school has ranked with the best in the nation in the preparation given for both college preparation and terminal courses. Principal and students have shared in the responsibilities and opportunities which this fine school offers. For me, the years of association with the members of the class of 1960 have been a time of real pleasure. It is my sincere wish that every member of this fine class may enjoy a rich and rewarding career, utilizing to the fullest extent the training received in A.C.H.S. M

MR. ALBION G. HART Seniors with their eye on the future can be seen hurrying and scurrying in and out of room 112. Now who is in that office? It's Mr. Albion G. Hart, our capable ad- viser and friend. His expert guidance and help have made him indispensable to all students of Atlantic City High School. Beginning his life in New England, Mr. Hart received his early education in Fall River, Massachusetts, and Williston Acade- my. Furthering his education, he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wesleyan University and his Masters Degree from New York University. Prior to his position as head of the school guidance department, Mr. Hart served our school in the capacity of English teacher. The Class of 1960 will always remember Mr. Hart with gratitude for showing stu- dents the way to colleges, scholarships and successful futures. His patience, and under- standing, his wit and wisdom, have truly been an inspiration to us all. MR. LLOYD E. SPANGLER Grand Central Station in A.C.H.S.? Of course, it's 116. Con- trolling this hustle and bustle is our Assistant Principal, Mr. Lloyd E. Spangler. Serving his fourth year in our discipline of- fice, Mr. Spangler has been a teacher as well as Supervisor of Instruction in the Science and Mathematics Department. His outside activities, such as Kiwanis, make him an outstanding member of the community. Receiving his Bachelor's degree from Dickinson College, and completing his graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Pittsburgh and Columbia University, shows that he is well qualified for this important post. Proving a scholar may also be an athlete, Mr. Spangler excelled in sports both in high school and college. Now the problems presented by some of our students are easily solved by this top mathematician. As a brilliant instructor of higher math for many years, he was admired by his students, whom he amazed by finding the simplest solutions to the most difficult problems. Using understanding and discipline, Mr. Spangler is helping to make Atlantic City High School a finer school for all, as he has done in the past. 23
