PRINlIIPAl. lg SPEAKING Attention, Seniors! Here's the insight on a really great guy. Principal of Atlantic City High School. Charles R. Hollenbach. A quick review of his past ac- complishments reveals that he holds degrees from such institutions of higher learn- ing as VVestchester State Teacher's College and the University of Pennsylvania. He also claims just pride in membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Delta Kappa, na- tional honor societies, and in being the recipient of the Harrison Scholarship to study in the Graduate School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Hollenbach also took graduate courses at Columbia and New York Universities and before coming to Atlantic High taught in Abington Friend's School and Chester High in Pennsylvania. Our great white father, as he is affectionately referred to, taught in the Social Studies Department in A.C.H.S., the knows every nook and cranny of 2213, coached the Debating team and was faculty advisor of the Cafeteria Com- mittee prior to 1936. In that year he became assistant principal and continued in that capacity until his appointment to the office of principal in 1939. hvwhwa- Time never hangs heavy on our principal's hands for he is an active par- ticipant in many Educators' Associations as well as in the local Shrine, Rotary and Board of Directors of the HY. Both of his daughters have graduated from A.C.H.S. One is now teaching music in Roselle Park, N. J., and the other is married and residing in Plainfield, N. J.. where she is active in church choir work. Although greatly appreciative of the respect and esteem that he has received as principal. Mr. Hollenbach. nevertheless, misses the pe1'sonal contact with the students that he experienced in former teaching years. A truly impressive figure. he has served as an inspiration to many graduating classes. Certainly the years to come will bring to light the fact that the Class of '52 has profited by his well- meaning advice and wise counseling. 8
