DAN MCFARLAND A.B .... M.A .... Ph.D. Chairman of the social Science De- partment, Atlantic Christian College There have been many sayings in regard to persons who are considered fools because they did not believe a certain way or accept a certain thing. It is certainly a very foolish person who turns away the once-in-a-life- time opportunity of college. College is wonderful. The effects which higher education has on one's life are unending and unlimited according to the individual. Admittedly, there are times when we stop filled with discouragement and say, But is it worth all this work? Yes, it is. It definitely is. College so broadens one's viewpoint that he finds his life overflowing with a bounteous supply of values he never dreamed possible -more than economical values-spiritual, cultural, physical, and intel- lectual. A person's life is enriched over and over with the help of his acquired skills in college. Just as you turn the pages, progressing through this yearbook, so Atlantic Christian College has progressed through the years. Each student who has ever walked this campus has had a part in the building of our alma mater. The contributions the individual makes to the school while here are completely up to him. He chooses the amount of work he will do to help better our school. Atlantic Christian College has been truly fortunate in the years that hover in our misty past. There have been many conscientious, dedicated, young people who have worked and played, lived and loved on our hallowed campus. This tiny area of land has produced many a notable young man or woman and will continue to do so. The persons have often found themselves and the work for their life while living in the block on which Atlantic Christian College is situated. From these four short years, many of them have gone on unto untold greatness, and many are yet to come. Those who are studying here now will someday contribute greatly to the progress and future of our school, our state, our nation, and our world. Time marches hand-in-hand with progress. It is to progress and to the future that we dedicate this year- book in the year 1960. ,MW MY N ,nl ,ann- 1, fx gif 'ti V2 Vi g, w A -if W x 7 91' M 1' ,, Q L si, , , pg 0 z M:ivr,, F z f 4 , Z A6 W 'wr 4 QR A , In 1- fax 3 my ,WH , W A ' ' ay 'S my 4, in Q i I Q Jr S .. A working knowledge of play production which in- cludes set building, makeup, directing, writing, and, of course, acting is achieved through long hours of work and rehearsals. The campus is always provided with at least two major plays, not to mention chapel productions and other special attractions throughout the year. This year the group has enjoyed a tremendous increase in membership. Writing is also encouraged, and the club has quite a bit of promis- ing talent. Karl Metz, Sandy Peele, Anne Nelson, and Alton Lee, among others, have.worked on writing for both plays- and several radio productions. The group also enjoyed several play festivals and some eventful par- ties this year.
