THROUGH THE YEARS Septe?? her of 1946 brought a somewhat different freshman class. It was made up largely of men, ex-servicemen—a welcome change to the lonely females who had predominated and led the campus during the war years. As freshmen, we soon became acquainted with Homecoming, Bohunkus, “Tweedie — and classmates, with of these acquaintances leading to matrimony. As sophomores, w the campus and Wilson blanketed in two of the biggest snows of our lives—which led to the cooks being snowbound and Sunday breakfast being supervised by none other than “Chef Dean Ward! Through the years we sang and danced to such tunes as k7 Love You For Sentimental Reasons , “Nature Boy , “It's Magic, and “Some Enchanted Evening. English majors learned the way to Apt. S with coffee served by Dr. “Butch. We saw a complete turnabout in fashions—from short skirts and long hair to long skirts and short hair. Aside from that, the class of '50 has seen many great changes take place on our campus— the girls' dormitory growing from the first brick to a beautiful building—the temporary Science Hall and “White House —the resignation of our president. Dr. Howard S. Hit ley— Dr. Jarman filling the vacant chair as acting president—the resignation of Mr. Waters—the ground broken and the new Hardy library getting well under way. Now that the Howard Chapel graduation is rapidly approaching, we realize that we may be smiling through tears as we enter the Chapel for the last time as students. But, if our footsteps have not been worthless, if any we have made have enriched the life of our school, then we may leave proudly and make room for future processions of Atlantic Christian students who will retrace the footprints of—the class of '50. 19
