Oden scored next two on runs of 50 and 55 yards. Swinney returned a punt 50 yards for the fourth Rabbit touchdown. Hawkins ended the scoring with a 70 yard scamper. Patter- son was outstanding on defense. Johnny Sharrer played an outstanding game on offense and defense for the Rabbits. Frost and Powell led the line play. L. Cannaday. The Rabbits looked good the first quarter but began to weaken. The Rabbits behind the running of Lanny Hawkins and Captain Stevie Oden, and good blocking from the Atlanta forward wall moved within the Pirates twenty yard marker-several times but were unable to reach pay- dirt. Callicoatte and Torrans were standouts for the Rabbits line. Atlanta played good ball until a 105 yard run took the fire out of them. At the time the Rabbits were on the five yard line about to tie the game. Atlanta seemed to fall apart. Steve Oden and Joe Tom McClung were outstanding in the Rabbit backfield. David Frost, Joe Callicoatte, and John Noel Patterson were outstanding in the Atlanta line. The Rabbits seemed to have the right kind of spirit to go all the way in the district. The team showed a new deter- mination for the coming district season. The high- light of the night was an 80 yard run by Hawkins. Hawkins scored 3 more times, along with McClung and Swinney tallying 1 each. Oden added 4 extra points. Oden passed to Ronnie Endsley, climaxing a long drive, for the first touchdown. Oden later received a short pass from Nichols, and went '70 yards for a score. Oden added both extra points. The Rabbits played a great game against the Hornets. The Rabbits seemed to have found a new power and began to use it. Oden scored 3 touch- downs. He scored twice on passes from Hawkins and once on a fifteen yard run. Jerry Swinney scored on a five yard run. Oden kicked 2 extra points and passed to Hawkins for one. Joe Callicoatte led the line play.
