MAROGN ATLANTA HIGH SCHOOL Atl ma Texas Published by -Q FOREWORD To remember both sides of school life You'll look through again and again The pages of this yearbook -- Seeing the difference of now and then You can relive all the activities By glancing through this book -- The parties, games and lessons -- They're here, if you'll only look. But while thinking of the lighter side Don't forget this important part, The friendships that you made here Which will live on and on in your heart So here 's your 1953 Maroon The Book of the Year, no less -- Because you played a part in it, You're responsible for its success. THE STAFF fox 3 DEDICATIO A woman's work is never done. In our estimation, this applies to MRS, FLOYD SHARRER, whose tireless efforts, capable leadership and understanding disposition help make each Senior's year one he will never forget. Whether in the concession stand at all home games, or steering the plans for the Coro- nation and Commencement, her first thought is to make this a memorable event for the student body. As proof of our appreciation, we enthusiastically dedicate the 1953 MAROON IO MRS, FLOYD SHA RRER, SLIPERINTENDENTS A MESSAGE '-5' These values we cherish: to have faith in the dig- nity and worth of the individual man as an end in himselfg to believe it is better to be governed by persuasion rath- er than coerciong to believe in the long run all values are inseparable from the love of truth and the disinterest ed service for itg to believe in knowledge and the power it confers. To the sponsor and to the staff we wish to congrat- ulate each of you for this fine book that we appreciate so much and shall cherish through the years. B. H. Hudspeth Superintendent ' 7 MR.
