Hi m ■A tofirnk 4 ■f' A Mol High ckoot ATLANTA, ILLINOIS V e d ication The 1962 Atlanta High School graduates wish to announce two honorary members of their class, Oma and Dewey 'Johnson, who have been with the Atlanta Community School for the past 18 years. Including many behind the scene Jobs, they have fulfilled all the needs of every student during their years of service at ACHS. As we dedicate the 1962 Atalanta to our honorary classmates, Oma and Dewey, we wish to express our sincere gratitude. This annual is published so that, after the students have graduated and have taken their places in the world of tomorrow, they can leaf through these pages and return in spirit to Atlanta High School. These pictures and activities of the year will enable you to relive your high school days; days which will seem the happiest of your lives. Mr. Staggs The purpose of education is to aid the student in preparing for both a vocation and an avocation in our society. This purpose can only be fulfilled by the joint efforts of the community, the student body, and the personnel of our schools. This year book is an example of this co-operation as well as a pictorial record of our achievements during the past year. Mr. Hauter 3 (Left to Right) Merlin Curtis, DeWitt Yeast, Secretary-Treasurer; Keith Pope, Paul Adams, President; Herbert Smith, Richard Gilbert, and Dr. Ijams. 1Bowtd tip Memb A This year s school board has seen the replacement of Robert Wertheim by Richard Gilbert. The board members have a new office in which to hold their meetings plus the fact that they also have a new superintendent and principal with which to work. The board has a full time Job keeping the school on a balanced budget, establishing regulations, and discussing further needs for the current year. 4 FACULTY that thi an books iflMb criOi Ij A-Jtrrs rn Suilwi rniichsM ts. soldier!
