eniors Prepared To Face Their Futures What will the future hold for me? This was a question which faced most of the seniors at one time or another during this past year. Will, it be college away from home? Or will it be a steady job? The responsibility of married life? A 2-year hitch in the service? Although each senior will face these particular questions in a different manner, all will cherish mem- ories of ACHS. Especially vivid will be memories of the long-awaited senior year. The joy of a senior was the misery of a freshman, when senior chefs baked a scrumptious cake and served it to the tortured Freshies with oysters and onions, gaining revenge for the ordeals experienced during their own initiation four years ago. Working together, the seniors sponsored an all-conference party, inviting 13 other schools as a tip- off to the '59-'60 basketball season. Another result of senior ingenuity and industry was their first place Homecoming float, Down By The Old Mill Stream, which featured running water. As early as October, thoughts of graduation filled their minds, as the class traveled to the photographer's for senior portraits. Then came the selection of announcements, name cards, and programs for Baccalaureate and Commencement. A gilded page in their history recorded memories of the junior-senior Prom and Banquet when two lucky seniors were crowned king and queen of the year's most festive occasion. The senior trip, although not so glamorous as the prom, also filled a page with happy memories. Baccalaureate and the night of Commencement composed the final chapter in the high school history of the Class of '60, as the soon-to-be-forgotten seniors received their diplomas with mixed emotions and bade farewell to ACHS to face their futures.
