HELEN HOBLIT Mrs. Helen Hoblit, a familiar figure in Atlanta is one of our busiest teachers. Her schedule in- cludes teaching vocal music to both grade and high school students. In the high school she directs the chorus and is in charge of musical presentations which include individual and ensemble work. She also teaches high school girls' P. E. classes and sponsors the G. A. A. , Pep Club, and the Cheer- leaders. He teaches Algebra I, General Math, and the P. E. classes for high school boys. His responsibilities also include coaching both the baseball and the basketball teams. Along with these activities, he sponsors the A Club and the freshmen class. He graduated from Illinois State Normal University with a B. S. in Education. MJ ELDRIDC-E KINSEY , C-iv Door To Education MARGARET KINSEY As Home Economics teacher Mrs. Kinsey is usually found introducing some new recipe or explaining some intricate pattern to her future homemakers. The FHA organization would never be the same with out Mrs. Kinsey's vital direction and efficient manage- ment. With her help and advice the Fl-lA is able to sponsor such projects as the annual style show and a semi- formal dance during second semester. As The Wheels Turn WINSTON L. HARWOOD Mr. Winston L. Harwood as principal and superintendent of Atlanta Community High School supervises the administrative operations of the school as well as directs the faculty. As director of the faculty, Mr. Harwood serves as a liaison between teachers and stu- dlents by promoting faculty -student relation- s ips. He received his M. S. degree from the University of Illinois. are px' 2, '- Vex 4, HAROLD B. ELLIOT Mr. Elliot, who teaches Agriculture I, ll, III, and IV prepares the high school boys to become better farmers. Besides teaching his agriculture courses, Mr. Elliot is kept very busy coaching his students for the various state contests. He holds a Master's degree from the University of Illinois. Faculty Opens EVERETT E. HINCH Teaching English I and II, Mr. Hinch guides the freshmen and sophomore students on their way to the mastery of the English language. Mr. Hinch is able to further his contact with the students as sponsor of the sophomore class. Ordering new books, keeping accurate library records is part of his job as the instructor in charge of the library. He holds a B.S. degree from Western Illinois University. Q s

Faculty Lights CAROLYN KUNTZMAN Miss Kuntzman, our new commerce teacher, teaches Typing I and II, Shorthand I and II, and Bookkeeping. She strives for accuracy throughout her classes by stressing constant practice and neat- ness. Besides working with her commercial classes, she is sponsor of the school newspaper, THE SPOT- LIGHT. LONG Mr. Long, one of our new teachers, tries to make the students aware of the world around them by intro- f ducing them to the study of Biology and General Seience. 1 Q Second to his teaching comes his responsibility as sponsor of the Junior class. He is also co-sponsor of the Science Club which is a newly organized club with the purpose of furthering student's interests in . scientific endeavors. He holds a B. S. in liberal arts from Western. Illinois University. ROBERT MASON Mr. Mason, a new member to our faculty, teaches such elective subjects as Plane Geometry, Algebra II, and Chemistry. In these classes he tries to improve his student's knowledge in the fields of higher mathematics and chemistry, through class experiments and demon- I strations.
