Akers always balanced the many requests and problems which came across his desk in the Registrar's Office. In the g ym working with the Lady Chargers, in the classroom signing students up for classes. in the field working with Admissions or Public Relations, or in his office scheduling classes his friendly smile and courteous manner made him a vital part of our campus life from 1975-l98l. His school spirit and dedication to his job did not go unnoticed. The l982 HAR VESTER staff wishes to say thanks, David Akers, Atlanta Christian College appreciated and needed you. l4t5pecial Thanks The earmarks of a college - classrooms, gyms, property, equipment, and various endowments - are not the essence of a college, but only the tangible outcome of the perseverance of many people. The Dean's Office deals with some of the most complicated and perplexing problems on campus. The handling of these details requires a dedicated and versatile person such as Mrs. Dorothy A. Bartley, Secretary to the Academic Dean from l969-I98l. She not only performed her appointed tasks, but became a vital part of our campus life by befriending and advising both students and faculty. Her quiet manner and dependability became her trademark. The I982 HARVES- TER staff wishes to say thanks, Mrs. Bartley, Atlanta Christian College appreciated and needed you. Special ThariksTl5 Because he shares the student's enthusiasm for new ideas,- V Because he fulfills the teacher's responsibility to effect growth through change; Because he lives the alumni's devotion to help Atlanta Christian keep pace; Because of his concern - This dedication of the l982 HARVESTER symbolizes the thanks and the appreciation which belongs to PROFESSOR 5. Through the generous gifts of alumni, trustees, staff and friends the books arrived in time for the new school year. Atlanta Christian College holds something special within it's realm. We can find special friendships that will last a lifetime. We also discover the special pride and purpose that will lead to a special service. Above everything else these are very special people. I have some to whom I would like to express my gratitude. Without these special people this volume of the l982 Harvester would not have been possible.- Ron Lewis for the cover; Chris Harkey for his work behind the camera and in the darkroom; Mr. McKinney for his patience in taking hundreds of pictures; Mr. Wolfe, our Representative, for sharing his talents and ideas; the Harvester Staff, for their contributions; and of course, thanks to Mr. Warren who always has had special talents that he has shared and very special patience he has shown. And, thanks to our Lord who gave us all something very special. Himself. mama l38A- ditor's Page WALSWORTH PUBLISHING COM PANY MARCELINE. MISSOURI, U B A wag . N :4 :3 ? ,m'z m . . v
