Text from Pages 1 - 128 of the 1963 volume:

The Senior Class of 1963 presents THE HARVESTER Atlanta Christian College 2531 Dodson Drive East Point, Georgia ForeWord Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Matthew 28:19-20 We, the Senior class of 1963, proudly present this edition of the Harvester to you, the students, faculty, Alumni, and friends of Atlanta Christian College. The theme of the '63 Harvester is Preach the Word. These words have echoed throughout the history of Atlanta Christian College. This theme has become the motto and purpose of the school. To this end we are commissioned to serve our Lord. In this year's annual we shall remember both our Alumni and our school. We feel that our acquaintance with these shall not be forgotten, but shall be enriched as we march together conquering for Christ. Our school, since its establishment, has been an integral part of the Restoration Movement. It has done much for the body of Christ in the training of men and women for the task of carrying forth New Testament Christiani- t . Y It is you--the Alumni--who, through your support and prayers, have made it possible for us to follow you through these halls and classrooms that ever echo with the Gospel true. Some have forgotten the Alma Mater that built their foundation, the greater understanding of God's Word. It is our desire that this will not happen to us, but that we shall always remember our school as you, whom we honor with this edition, have done. The future years will bring new faces and more changes to the school, but there shall be for us this record of memories that are so dear. We hope that our efforts may renew in the hearts of Atlanta Christian College students, wherever they may be, that unending love for Christ and our school; and may we all, throughout life, remain stead- fast in the Preaching of the Word. With these thoughts we present to you The Hat- vester of 1968. For I am not ashamed of the Gospel: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16 CONTENTS ADMINISTRATION FACULTY.....................11 CLASSES.....................15 ORGANIZATIONS................57 ATHLETICS...................71 ACTIVITIES...................81 Dedication Our alumni are all over the world TO OUR ALUMNI; we are privileged to dedicate the 1963 HARVESTER. One hundred thirty-six of our graduates are now serving the cause of Christ in official capacities all over the world. About sixty- five others are serving in an unofficial capacity. We are proud of our Alumni and our prayers go with them always as God uses them as vessels for His Word. William E. Best, AB Harold C. Turner, AB Harvey L. World for Christ . . . . . . A.C.C?s Missionary Club We look out and see countless millions of people wandering the paths of darkness. We see a task never before presented to the body of Christ--a task that seems invincible. Yet, the victory has been won! Caleb with his tremendous faith in God, facing the giants of the moun- tain, said, GIVE ME THIS MOUNTAIN WHICH THE LORD HATH PROMISED. . This is the challenge to the World for Christ . . .to commit ourselves wholly unto God, to create on cam- pus and off campus the spirit of sacrifice, of soul-winning, and of missions wherever they may be for Jesus Christ. This is our task. 68 LEFT TO RIGHT: Jim Vaughn, Hal. Tapp, Bill Redmon, Charles Reese, Professor Torn Snow, Walter Zorn. Amateur radio has always been noted for pioneering in the field of electronics and for a means of communication in times of disaster. This medium is now being used by many missionaries to keep in touch with the home church although as far as 10,000 miles from home! Our club is the proud owner of a fully-equipped novice station tWA4FYD. Three members hold the general license and the others hold the novice license. Our constitution reads. . . The primary purpose of this club shall be to fur- ther the cause of New Testament Christianity through the medium of amateur radio. A.C.C. Amateur Radio Club LEFT - Ed. K4LVA in a CW or code contact. The long walk back to class. Our physical need for space is great. but perhaps it is strangely significant that now we receive both physical and spiritual food here in our Dining Hall. Someday perhaps there will be a Chapel; but for now we make do and receive blessings from the fellowship with local preachers and special guests during our Chapel hours together. 82 w: h. i Youth Directors FRONT ROW, left to right; Bill Faulkner, Pat Carrington, Amy Jo LeMay, Sandra Gardi- ner, Morris Little, Mike Wood.
