Believing that there was a need for a system of student gov- ernment 0n the campus of Atlanta Christian College. the trustees and president appointed representatives of the student body at the Close of the school year 1952-1951, to undertake the work of organiz- ing: such a student body government. A charter and constitution were drawn up and us of September 1. 1953, became effective un- der the presidency of Carlyle Cox. The purpose of student government at Atlanta Christian Col- lege is to help promote the Colleges efforts to develop adult Chris- tizm leadership by providingr experience and training: in the solving: of problems which engage the interest and challenge the needs of the school.
