Believing that there was a need for a system of student gov- ernment 0n the campus of Atlanta Christian College. the trustees and president appointed representatives of the student body at the Close of the school year 1952-1951, to undertake the work of organiz- ing: such a student body government. A charter and constitution were drawn up and us of September 1. 1953, became effective un- der the presidency of Carlyle Cox. The purpose of student government at Atlanta Christian Col- lege is to help promote the Colleges efforts to develop adult Chris- tizm leadership by providingr experience and training: in the solving: of problems which engage the interest and challenge the needs of the school. ALUMNI A The Alumni Association of Atlanta Chris- tian College was first organized many years ago, but did not become active until 1951 when the Association was reactivated and a new constitution drawn up. The purpose of the Alumni Association is to advance the cause of Christ through the medium of their Alma Mater. The Association has an annual home- coming meeting at the College each fall. This year they sponsored an evangelistic rally for the College and they plan to continue this rally each year. The members of the Asso- ciation pledged definite financial support to the College this year for $1,000 to furnish one of the classrooms in the new building.
