ibeclica flan To our beloved uDoc I-Iodges we dedicate this, the 1949 edition of the Harvester as an expression of our sincere appreciation for his life of service to Christ and our Alma Mater. For years he has served not only as a trustee but asphysician to the student body and faculty. He has given his time and profession- al service without any financial remuneration. He has been a faith- ful and loyal supporter throughout the years. Atlanta ChristianCol- lege is greatly indebted toDr. J. H. Hodges for the fine contribution he has made to its spiritual and material welfare. The class of 1949 is honored in dedicating this annual toone who is so willing to serve. iAnd whosoeverwill be chief among you, let him be your servant. Matt. 20:27

jOPQWOPCI It is the desire of the class of '49 in presenting the Harvester, to bring you a picture of the Work and play in the life of the students and faculty at Atlanta Christian College. To you; students, as you turn the pages from time to time, may it recall happy memories of days past. To you, faculty, as you view these pages, mayyou realize our appreciation for the help you have given us in our work here. And to you, friends of AtlantaChrist- ian College, may it be a picture of the work for Christ that is being done, and the growth of our Alma. Mater.

A mm? FROM THE nail enf TO THE STUDENTS AND GRAD-' UATES OF ATLANTA CHRIST- IAN COLLEGE: uHast thou not known? hast thou not heard . . ? , cries the prophet. You who go out from Atlanta Christian College cannot but answer, yes, to the question. You know the message. You have heard the commission. You are charged to fulfill it with sincerity and effectiveness. ' As evangelist, teacher . . . whatever your field of service, always preach the Word! Your life 15 the preaching of the Word of God, the message of salvation, as the Apostles first delivered it. All else is death. Your every act must spring from the apprehension of the one supreme fact, Christ crucified. You are not commissioned to preach the un- certain and everchanging theories of the modern mind. Preach Christ! If you would preach Christ . . . then live Christ! Be on fire for Him! So will you set fire to the hearts of men. This is the real test. No great preacher was ever made in the seminary. Go out and live with the people . so will you come to understand their need. Go out and live with God. . so will you be enabled to meet that need. There must be no limit to your hopes, for there is no limit to your power. Our love, our prayers, our trust go with you. 4
