Not Chubby! This was proved by his being voted most talkative in the Senior Class. He always managed to provoke a laugh or two from everyone. STUDENT COUNCIL To the Student Council a group of students elected to office by the students themselves falls the arduous task of arranging school affairs This past year was no exception In an excellent manner the Student Council of 1952 arranged the assemblies, the One - Act Plays, and other self-government projects, which helped to provide smooth educational as well as financial affairs. Q.. y Y C I ATHOL HIGH SCHOOL BAND For the martial music which introduced all inter scholastic programs during 1951 and 1952 we proudly turn to our High School Band. Under the capable direction of Mr. Ray Dumas, the band led us onto the field toward many a victory, and always with the proper introduction to put over any athletic event with great enthusiasm. In colorful maroon and white, our Bandsmen were outstand- ing in musical proformance and up-to-the-minute formations Their excellent annual concerts were a credit to Athol High School. in ATHOL HIGH SCHOOL ORCHESTRA For our more classical scholastic accasions of 1952, we were fortunate in having our popular A H S Orchestra, under the able direction of Mr Ray Dumas The orchestra composed of many talented young people, rendered many excellent selections at special occasions such as Grad uation One Act Plays and all programs of the High Bchool's in Memorial Hall We pride ourselves on having one of the best student orchestras in Worcester County in 1952 , . Aj Q, Y Y- I v : 1 ,' . .ft , L U Q I , , - , .. 2 SENIOR PLAY As one of the final productions of our Senior year, there came on April 25, the Senior Play UWe Shook the Family Tree ' We shook it alright right into the hearts of a capacity audience in Memorial Hall The lively com edy showed a teen age girl who having suffered as the well known wall flower suddenly craved to be popular In her efforts, she threw her family into confusion and the audience into hysterics The Cast under the excellent coaching of Mr Ernest Higgins and Mr Joseph Gagliardi, showed great appitude for the stage and gave an unusually fine interpertation of amateur thespians The players were certainly recom pensed for the grueling hours of practice and rehearsal, into which they put their very best They branched out to really shake that tree right from the roots to the successful top dei, fri X ffX. During the year 1952, a new organization was es tablished at Athol High School Approximately fifty students have joined the 'Footl1ghters,' a new and ca pable group, concerned with the furtherance of Dramatic Art. During this year, they have produced three very fine proformances, and are now being requested to en- tertain at outside Churches and Civil Functions, because of their unusually high dramatic ability.
