During 1956-57, the first year of operation as a school serving the entire county, the work of the student body and the school staff has been such that the Athens High School has been a credit to this community. After teaching for 21 number of years in Atlanta, Mr. Wood came to Athens. Here, he served as Principal of the Athens High School and as Supervising Principal of the Athens School System before becoming Superinten- dent. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia, holding both the A.B. and the M.A. Degree and he has done further graduate study at Emory and Co- lumbia Universities. MR. BAND The 111-piece Athens High Trojan Band was one of the Georgia representatives of the International Lions Club Convention in Miami, Florida, last summer. In March, 1957, the Concert Band and the majorettes competed in the North Georgia Music Fes- tival. ln addition to this it has entertained us at football games, parades, assemblies, and other concerts.
