MY MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT THIS YEAR MS Doing oral book, reports in Short Stories because they all laughed at (with) me. (Mike Baugher) Being Forcibly removed from David Brown's car. (Eric McCutchan) At the Tri-City baseball game being walked and throw- ing the bat towards the Tri-City dugout and having to go back and get it and throw it to our dugout. (Bill House) Cetting caught cheating on the Biology Test. (Randy Rapp) The bathroom door in the shop getting stuck with me inside and Mr. Field had to kick it in. (Robert Hill) DOUBLE TAKE 4 This year five sets of identical twins attended Athens High School. They were (1) Christie and Carrie Young, seniors; (2) Carol and Cheryl Sargeant, seniors; (3) Michelle and Missy Flanigan, freshmen; (4) Angie and Trisha Mitts, freshmen; and (5) Kurt and Ken Ratliff, sophomores. Together each has shared double trouble, double joy, and double fun. There we dedicate this double page spread as DOUBLE TAKE. What s HOT? Vanna and Pat (as in the Wheel of For- tune). What's NOT? Jim and Tammy (as in the PTL Club). Vanna stuns us with her wardrobe while Tammy creates a nationwide shortage of mascara. Now isn't that special?! Guess jeans, friendship bracelets, add-a-bead necklaces NOT — flourescent and skin tight clothes If you're sending money to Oral Roberts, enjoy- ing the food in the cafe- teria, fighting, refusing to get along with teach- ers, dropping out, you're frostbitten”! If you're hanging out with friends, wearing a class ring (your own or someone else's), wearing bows, watching Saturday Night Live, laughing at Eddie Murphy, you're on fire”! Mai Lh$! h Ui 1 1. Guess products and bleached denim, as worn by Michelle Croft and Holly Flynn are considered cool'' for both guys and gals. 3. Bows in all shapes sizes, and colors are HOT in '87, as displayed by Joy Hunter. 4. Bold and bright prints are always found at AHS, as modeled by David Williamson and Mike Haschemeyer. 5. Janice Snyder says that denim jackets can be worn with anything — even formals. o. Mrs. Brady and Rusty Nolting show off their moussed hair, a fashion trent that has hit AHS 5 7 MY FAVORITE CLASS IS _______________________________BECAUSE Art! It stimulates the brain. (Melissa Fisher) Modern Living because you get to learn how to man- age life in modern times, but when we get old enough to use it, it's not modern anymore. (Eric Andresen) Pre-algebra, it is a very educational class because it's just totally awesome, like I'm so sure. (Tami Miller) Science 'cause Mr. Fliege is a cool dude. The night's meal was followed by wills which were read by junior class officers and prophecies which were read by Stephanie Keister, Angie Dugger, Jennifer Krick, and Chrissy Thompson. Music was provided by disc-jockey, Mike Greer. Prom colors were blue, white, and silver. The fall semester was brought to an eventful conclusion by Homecoming Week. Homecoming week consisted of many activities: 50 60's day. Dress up day, tug-of-war, slave auction, guy cheerleading, and many more events. Overall Juniors and Seniors tied. Seniors won Hall decorations and guy cheerleading while Juniors were victorious in the tug-of-war and obstacle course. At the Hop everyone danced to the music of the '50's, 60's and present day. Each senior, including five foreign exchange students, received a diploma. Student of Year, Carrie Young, received the Virginia Bell Scholarship and Toby Ingram received the Lyle Short Scholarship.
