Our day that we've been waiting for is here. We will be walking the halls of ACHS for the last time. We are passing through the doors of adoles- cence into the world of adulthood . We're leaving this place where we've grown up . the place where we've met challenges in fellow classmates, sports, and with underclassmen We have felt pain and shame in defeat. We've experienced joy and happiness in success. We will keep with us the picture of crying faces from unsuccessful ball games. We'll remember waiting till the night before to cram for exams. We will think back on meetings, proms, assem- blies, and homework. Always, we'll remember those who have helped us get this far. How can we leave our friends without a guar- antee that we may meet again? We've come to know friends and we've grown t| love them. They're a part of us; they cry the same tears; they laugh the same smiles. How do we say good-bye to our classmates without a feeling of loneliness and emptiness? Today starts a new life for us; a life of strange new experiences. We will be making decisions on our own now We may find happiness in life and live in peace. We may face pain and live in sadness. We'll be taking different roads and carrying heavier loads. If we should stumble and fall, we'll get right back up and start again. We will keep our heads up and we will stand our ground. It was a fantastic year as the Warriors compiled a 15-3 record, using a team batting average of .299, a fielding average of .919, and an ERA of 2.63. Athens should be real Chal- lengers again next year! Athens J. V. 's win 6 in reg. season play. Lanphier, Sacred Heart, Mason City, Tri-City, Rochester, South- east were victims of Warrior power. Oh, there were other games they would like to have won, but to lose by 1 point was tough on the boys as well as the fans. But, everyone agreed that the Warriors had come a long way from their down season of '73-'74. With seve- ral varsity members returning, Coach Conklin hopes to put it all together again more consistently. And... .with a few breaks (which any team in any sport needs) who knows.. .Just maybe the Winning Fever of years ago could once again become contagious and focus attention on the little Giants of the 20's and 30's. Our J. V.'s really worked hard this year, even though their record wasn't impressive. They played some tough competition, if you remembered their opponents. With more experience we're sure our girls will represent Athens proudly and with more victories next season. Coach Williams is optimistic about the Warriorettes. 82 Coach Pirn Goff is right in the middle THE A.C.H.S. SWINGERS The Warriors clubbed their way to victory over Easton, Foreman, and Havana earlier in the sea- son. The scores were kept secret, according to our reporter! In their second matches against Foreman and Havana, the Warriors couldn't quite get the ball in the cup. Other losses were to Glenwood, Routt of Jacksonville, 2 matches to Rochester, and 2 to Mason City. Although the record certainly didn't send chills up and down the spines of Johnny Miller, Jack Nicklaus, T. Weis- kopf, etc., Coach Goff has assured us that some of the boys play a dam good game of golf. P.S.: We're sorry that there weren't any action shots available.
