yiSto uj O Thb CActSS 0 1 961 In the fall of 1957 thirty-nine timid freshmen entered the halls of A.C.H.S. slightly green, but it didn’t take us long to get into the swing of things. Dale Bounds was our President that first year. Also elected were Jim Brown-Vice-President, Marlene Markey- Sec. Treas., Susan Canterbury-Student Council Representative. We had an exciting year with a sock hop and pizza party besides the magazine( sales, dances, games, and the usual parties. The girls elected to march Honor Night were Kathryn Powers, Sharon Tomlin, and Mary Ann Sanderfield-alternate. Miss Cordera and Mr. Fee gave us some much needed help that year. In 1958 we came back, fewer in number but ever so much wiser. Miss Cordera and Mr. Schmidt were our advisors. Jim Muller was our President, Jim Brown-Vice President, Susan Canterbury-Sec. Treas, Sandy Nance-Student Council Representative. This year, Mary Ann Sanderfield, Linda Holler, Janice Cundall, Kathryn Powers, and Susan Canterbury were elected to march Honor Night. We had a spaghetti party and did our best to make some money. Our second year at A. C. H. S. passed very quickly. In 1959, we had finally made it, upper classmen at last. This was to be our busiest year yet. We elected Jim Muller our President again. The other officers were Linda Holler-Vice-President and Susan Canterbury-Sec. Treas. The turkey supper, our big money making project, was a lot of work but well worth the effort. Miss Jacobs and Mr. Stevens were our class sopnsors. The boys lost the magazine sales contest and therefore, hosted our first class party. Soon it was time to plan the Junior-Senior Prom to be held at Washington Park Pavilion. Our theme was Rendezvous of the Stars . Everyone agreed it was a great success. Our junior play, If Mother Only Knew , gave everyone a chance to use his talent. One of the highlights of the year was the arrival of our class rings. The girls elected to march Honor Night this year with Janice Cundall, Susan Canterbury and Barbara Nichols. After such a busy year, we were looking forward to a long summer in which to recuperate. In the fall of 1960, twenty-nine seniors entered A.C.H.S. to register for the last time. We had lost several members, but what we lost in number we made up in experience. We were all old hands at this now. We were finally seniors. Jim Muller was re-elected President and Susan Canterbury-Sec. Treas. Barb Nichols joined them as Vice- President, and Jack Geary as our Student Council Representative. Don Libby was elected Student Council President. Mrs. Becker and Mr. Glubczynski were our advisors. Looking forward to publishing an annual and taking a senior trip, we started right out to make money with magazine and light bulb sales. We also had a bake sale and served lunch at a farm sale. The senior candidates Don Libby and Linda Holler, were elected king and queen of the Halloween Party. Then, of course, senior pictures were taken which was another big day. The senior play-”Bull In a China Shop proved to be one of the funniest ever. Senior pictures finally arrived, and the winter passed quickly. It was soon Prom time again, and then the senior trip, the climax to our high school days. Then at last, Graduation, the long awaited day. Thus ended four happy and busy years at old A.C.H.S. 14 .
