She attended New York University, Edinboro and East Stroudsburg Colleges. She has a M.A. in Drivers Ed. and safety, and a M.S. in Guidance. She taught Phys. Ed for 15 years, was a cheerleader advisor, taught Health and was a Guidance Counselor for 12 years. He attended New York University and East Stroudsburg College. He has a M.A. in Drivers Ed. He coached J.V. football and was the varsity basketball coach for several years. 54 Mrs. Emma Robbins has worked in the cafeteria for 15 years. Mrs. Virginia Crowley has worked in the office of A.H.S. for 11 years. We greatly appreciate these people for their devotion throughout the years to Athens High School. 55 IN MEMORY OF A FRIEND. end, including life. Seventeen years is too short to really get to know a person, but some of us had the chance to know Tim Robert, and are better for it. He was quiet in class, but outside of class he was just like the rest of us. He was a rifle club member and had many awards to show for it. He especially liked to work with his hands, and with his father. Tim’s favorite color was mint green and his favorite food was spaghetti. He also liked baseball. Tim had a group he hung around with, Kelvin Rice, Bill Smith, Chris Orshal, Steve Mayo and Jim Robertson. His nickname was “Craze.” VVe, the members of the Athenian staff of 1979, wish to dedicate this yearbook to Tim. 56 MANDY FARMER 1978 EXCHANGE STUDENT Athens High School extends a sincere welcome to Amanda (Mandy) Farmer, 1978-79 foreign exchange student from Barbados. Barbados is a small densely populated country in the West Indies. Mandy tells us that the weather is beautiful in her home country with the temperature never dropping below 61 °F. Mandy attends the Girl’s Foundation School in Barbados and admits that AHS is much easier academically. At GFS, every student is assigned to one room for an entire day, allowing for a maximum class size, and the teachers rotate from room to room. Mandy is very content at AHS and hopes to become a member of the swim team and the ski club. This winter, in the cold lands of Pennsylvania, Mandy will experience her first encounter with snow. Her host family is Mr. and Mrs. Sven Sealander. Mandy will be staying with the Sealanders until her return to Barbados next August.
