JAMES PRUYNE HIGH SCHOOL PRSNCIPAL B.S. East Strouds urg M.Ed. Cornell University Each is given a bag of tools, A shapeless mass, A book of rules. And each must make Ere life is flown A stumbling block Or a stepping stone. R. L. Sharpe A master carpenter, a builder of cathedrals or beautiful homes must possess three things: sharp tools, knowledge, and imagination. We are all born with the crude tools of our trade whatever it may be. During his approach to maturity a good craftsman must sharpen his tools. Then he must learn how to use them. Having the tools and the knowledge to use them, the temple in life he builds for himself will depend much upon his imagination and his ambition. Let each of you, the graduates of the class of '69, pause and assess his progress thus far. Have you sharpened your tools? Have you learned how to use them? Have you decided what you wish to build? Are you building a stumbling block or a stepping stone? Plan your life and live your plan.

MILES F. RAKER Assistant Superintendent Congratulations to you, the graduates of the class of 1969. One of the most difficult problems facing young people of today is the development of convictions for right and wrong. Often happiness and usefulness of our lives depend on what we decide to do when these questions present themselves. The easy thing is to dream of the bright days ahead, to walk the high road with your head high in the rosy clouds of desire, the hard thing is to keep your commitments through the daily grind of ordinary things. Develop ideas that are ideal and success will surely be yours. Sincerely yours, Eugene T. Cerutti To the Class of 1969: You have reached a milestone in your educational endeavor. As you receive your diplomas at commencement, our community recognizes you as high school graduates. With this diploma in hand and equipped with the best knowledge your school can give, you stand ready to assume your responsibility as a citizen in a rapidly changing world. High school has been an interesting experience. You have learned to live, work and play together. Individually you have developed in character, in personality and in ability. In attaining your education you have also given a great deal to your school and community in leadership, in scholarship, in athletics, in dramatics and in many other ways. You have completed your tasks well and we praise you highly for it. However what you have thus far accomplished is only a prelude to what must yet be done. Use your high school training of today to endeavor to solve the complex problems of an uncertain world of tomorrow. lVly best wishes go with each of you. Miles F. Raker EUGENE T. CERUTTI Assistant Principal
