One of the biggest dreams of anew letterman from our four sports is that he will soon become a member of the Pigskin A Chasers. This club, which is one of the school's oldest, f f j is rapidly increasing in membership and importance. The only f Q qualification for acceptance into the Pigskin Chasers is that D the person wishing to enter the club possess a letter in one of I the sports. It is not at all a time consumingclub, but many a fine job is done by the different club committees. One of these jobs is the selling of football programs. These programs are made up by the varsity cheerleaders, who are honorary members in the Pigskin Chasers. Another task is the showing ofa movie to raise money for letters and sweaters for the senior members of the club. The club's initiation used to be a real ordeal and torture for its new members. The club has changed its policy and this year.the new members were allowed to sing and make some speeches before an assembly of the entire Senior High. Under the direction of Coach Childs and his four assistants, elected by the club members, the Pigskin Chasers has developed into a fine institution. The purpose of the club is to develop good character, leadership and democratic qualities through direct participation in club projects. PI The club officers in 1957-58 were: President Jake Page, Vice President,J im Crong Secretary,Gary Gilbert, Treasurer,Howard Griswold and Advisor,Coach Childs. 20

who have The Future Nurses of Americaisaclub com- posed of senior high girls with one purpose in mind - to become nurses. Meetings are held twice a month and presided over by Betty Kjelgaard as president, Marjorie Catlin as vice-president, and Marcella McKeel as Secretary-Treasurer. At these meetings many ideas are presented and worked out. The girls have undertaken many activities, out of school as well as in. One of their well-known projects is doing volunteer 'EW tn, work at the Robert Packer Hospital. llere the girls are recognized by the neat pink and white aprons they wear. Other activities include taking trips to other hospitals and helping with polio shots and other clinics held at school. Often nurses or other specialists come to the meet- ings and tell about their work. Although this club has not been in existencelong,it has proved worthy of being a member of the national or- ganization, Seated - A. Cimmons, J. Northrup, M. Deuil, P. Brittain, M. Sackett, N.
