The Girls' Athletic Club is a club composed of junior and senior girls interested in participation in sports. The G.A.C. meets each ac- tivity period under the leadership of Mrs. Ruth Jones. Activities for the club have consisted of playing bas- ketball and volleyball with other girls' teams. Plans were discuss- ed and carried out for the annual senior boys versus senior girls bas- ketball game. In the winter months the G.A.C. planned outdoor activities such as skiing, skating and toboggan- ing and also made trips to Elmira for indoor swimming. The point system is the basis of recognition in G.A.C. A girl must earn 500 points a year, consisting of receiving so many points for each game or hour played in various sports. If she succeeds in this, she is awarded a medal if a senior or a letter if a junior. The awards are presented in assembly the last day of school. The following officers were elected for the year 1957-58-Nancy Storelli, president, Nancy Gardner, vice-president, Nancy Blemle, sec- retary, Linda Kreamer, recording secretary and Joan Northrup, trea- surer.
