What He Dislikes About Her The way she comes to school in slacks—too big for her britches. The lipstick that always comes off—Bombshell Red and Splatterproof. The girls that always seem so bored. The way the girls discuss all the boys behind their backs. Their way of thinking they have a priority on all the fellows. Their utter conceit. The piano legs in high heels. Firemen’s red nail polish and two-inch fingernails. Her manner of acting too sophisticated for her age. Her giggle. Her much too serious side. Always being stood up. Her desire to keep up with the fellows by smoking and drinking. Her hats. Her alibis she can think up for not keeping a date. Her way of keeping you waiting until the wee hours of the morning before she’s ready to go out. How she always seems to order the most expensive item on the menu when you’re “darn near broke.” Her beating around the bush. ■ !{ 22

What She Dislikes About Him The way the fellows throw the girls around like potato sacks. Their color schemes. The way the fellows compare the girls as to necking technique. The way they treat all women as inferior beings. His spending so much time combing his hair and then forgets his fingernails. The way he prefers foreign women. H is belief in “variety as the spice of life.” His habit of giving all the orders. His cattincss in voicing his opinion of women. The way he sits around at a dance chatting with the fellows while the girls wilt against the wall. When he takes you out on a date and doesn’t have enough to pay the check. How he gets his dates mixed and then works in shifts. The wolfish gleam in his eye at sight of an unfamiliar face. When he spends his time talking about the girl he had out the night before. His seeming enjoyment of embarrassing girls in public. His habit of telling a girl to wait “right there” for a couple of minutes and turns up about three hours later. His limited vocabulary which causes him to swear at every other word. I low he makes a date and then comes down and spends the evening sleeping on the sofa. His starting to tell a joke and then stopping in the middle with the explanation. “You wouldn’t understand it anyway.” 4 23 }
