ATHENIAN Only a few had arrn ed as yet Among them were Doc Tlffany and Senator R1chard Demmg We were standmg there talkmg about our hxgh school llfe and readmg the program for the day xnhlch had been prlnted by George Rettburg xx hen ue heard a C0mm0tl0D outs1de W all rushed out to see what had happened and we got there Just IH tlme to see gettmg out of thelr plane whlch had landed on the athletlc field none other than the noted alrmall pllots Clyde AnthonJ and George Rumpff Next to come was Tom Dxxon s Jazz orchestra Thls conslsted of Scotty Kunes v1ol1n1st Curt Wllcox cornetlst Lyle Morley drummer Doc Tlffany wlth a clarlnet and John O Brlen wlth a ban1o Tom played the plaro for the orchestra The orchestra had no sooner arru ed than Cecll Whlte and Harold Wood better known as Ike and Mlke arrlved We learned from our pro grams that they were on the afternoon s entertalnment wlth thexr famous mal lonette show They always were qulte clex er and they had made the marlonettes themselves Then 1n qulck processlon came Robert Howard dean of Mansfield Harold Lambert and Grant Brlggs c1v1l englneers for the Amerlcan Brldge Constructlon Co Glbby Welch football coach of Syracuse Unlverslty and Donald MCEHtlT6 well known comedlan and after dlnner speaker He was also on the program for the afternoon Now everyone had come but Eugene Eddy and Delbert Hunsmger They were both employed at the Ingersoll Rand Co helplng to manu facture alarm clocks As It was past noon we declded we couldn t walt any longer for them We went lnto the cafeterla whlch was a recent add1t1on to the school for our lunch We had Just sat down at the table when they came Now every member of the class of 32 was present After lunch we went to the audltorlum for the rest of the program Thls proved to be very lnterestmg Wlth several selectlons by Tom s Jazz orchestra some recltatlons and Jokes bv Donald McEnt1re and Ike and lVI1ke s marlonette show At the end of the program we sang our class song and Alma Mater Plesldent John O Brxen Sald that he wanted to see us all agam ln another ten years James McCorm1ck ,- QWW' mv 4lr f'w' A 'Q Icujc fucnty .sl 0' 1? ,nf-Jnnnnnnnnnnnr1nr1' lqnnnnn,nnnnnrv..rLnnn.ru ! 1 ' ' ' , . e ! 7 Y 7 Y . . , . . . . . 7 !
