1969 Trailblazer Is Dedicated to Mr. Glenn Trent In keeping with the chosen patriotic theme, Mr. Trent truly earns the honor bestowed upon him. He keeps alive the great traditions of our country as he leads his bands in their stirring performances at concerts and athletic events. No one is more proud to be a part of the American scene than our instrumental music instructor. As he lifts his baton to direct students in the national anthem, no one can help but feel deeply inspired. Introducing a visiting band. 2 The final pep talk preceding a concert.

Meet Our New Superintendent of Schools . . . Dr. Lawrence Butler If you, the students of Atchison, are typical of the thousands who have pre- ceded you through high school, in a few years you will look back on your high school days as the most interesting and ex- citing time of your lives. Unfortunately, many of you will look back on those years with some regret at the opportunities lost by not having taken full advantage of the opportunities available to you. You do not need to take my word for this. Ask any person who has been out of high school only a few years. Better, ask any person who dropped out of high school be- fore graduating. If you are a graduating senior, it is too late to heed this advice. For all others there is still time to take full advantage of the experiences school offers. Enroll in courses that will challenge you. Learn as much as you can from those courses and enter into the activities of the school with interest and enthusiasm. Dr. Lawrence Butler If you do these things, school will be more meaningful to you now and in future years you will have no regrets about the wasted opportunities. Lawrence Butler Superintendent of Schools
