One of our most active and popular faculty members is Miss Willsie, who completed her last year at A.H.S. on May 24. Miss Willsie came to Astoria to become head of the English department. Since that time she has taught orientation, speech, and social problems, directed many plays and advised the Girls' League. One of her best known jobs has been that of Dean of Girls. lt is in this particular position that she has helped and won the friendship of so many girls. She's a wonderful teacher and a person we'll never forget. Mary Jo Seeborg is the office secretary and a vital factor in our smooth running school. Mr. Bourne advised the T and I Trainees. He was head of vocational education. Mr. Bush is Vice Principal and Dean of Boys. Page 7 Miss Isabel Willsie, Mary Jo Seeborg, Mr. Bourne, Mr. Bush. A.H.S. OFFICIALS

OUR SUPERINTENDENT J ARLE C. HAMPTON Mr. Hampton's willingness to come back to Astoria to resume the position of superintendent after Mr. Burgess's death was certainly appreciated by the A.H.S. students and faculty. We know no one else who could have managed the prob- lems of the Astoria school system so capably and with such success. THOMAS A. WELLS A catchy smile and a friendly hello are only a small part of the wonderful per- sonality presented students and faculty members alike by Mr, Wells. We will certainly never forget all he has done for us in his year as principal at Astoria High School. Hood River's loss was As- toria's gain. OUR PRINCIPAL Page 6
