PLEA FOR A PAUSE Here we make our observation- Time flies by so very soon you're Seniors now almost before You quite got used to being Juniors. Let us get our bearings straight, Else you may go on without us, Before you rush us on again Give us time to look about us. Betty Wootton. Junior boys made up one-half of Astorias' championship basketball team this spring. Jack Love, Rueben Wirkkunen, Eldred Mittet, and Eben Parker have still another year to give to their Alma Mater in the way of baskets, defenses and offensives. Love was a surprise in the athletic world this fall, and Coach Palmberg expects great things of him next year. Often the last all-school memories of departing seniors, the juniors' Prom was again a huge' success. The juniors take this means to say their fond fare- wells to the class in whose shoes they are to step in the fall. Light spring and summer formals paint a beautiful picture in Patriot's Hall, despite the omni- present rain-or liquid moonlight. ln order to make money with which to finance the Prom, free to all students, the juniors gave their annual mystery thriller. Although it was only fifty minutes short, the production was certainly not lacking in audience appeal and interest. Such a young Astor Post editor lnow assistantl as Jeanette Urell does not often happen. Jeannie will be only a second term junior when she shoulders the full responsibility of the school paper. Doris Bjork, the peppy little yell leader, certainly does all right. She finds time besides for the Library Club, the Pep Club, the Tri-Y Club and class plays. Athletes galore cram the junior ranks. Besides the already mentioned basket- ball luminaries there are many boys who struggle and strain on the football ield. Thelma Koski, Donald Hoff and Laura Zimmerman, as live wires in Rooms 24, 27 and 3l respectively, kept their rooms on their toes.
