Freshman Class History On September 3, 1957 fifty green Freshies entered A,l-I.S, After the initiation party given us by the Sophomores on September 13, we felt more at ease. We elected the following class officers, President, David Rennerg Vice-President, Gary White, Secretary, Jeanette Trone, and Treasurer, Lona Jo Talbott. Our Student Council members were: Jime Trone, Eddie Trone, and Gene Vaughn. Several boys went out for sports. Three of the girls went out for cheerleading. Sophomore Class History When the Sophomore Class entered Astoria High last year there was a grand total of 51 They have picked up new members along the way and have also lost a few. They now have a fairly large class of 45 members. The class sponsors are Mrs. Trimpe and Mrs. Pollitt. The class is doing very well financially. Getting a big boost from their operetta, Meet Arizona , given last year im der the direction of Miss Janice Paul helped them out a lot. The class officers are Roger Bucher, presidentg Rosemary Poppenhager, vice presi dentg Marilyn Salisbury, secretaryg and Shirly Gorsuch, treasurer.
