. i AN UNTIMELY AD VENTURE On March 29, 1984 an uncharacteristic spring storm hit the northeastern seaboard of the U.S. Here at Assumption, we were glad to have a day off from classes but were also fearful that the Semi-Formal the next night would be cancelled. We were stuck for the day in our rooms and experienced cabin fever with our roomies. i % '

AC ' s Campus Center Over the past two years, the As¬ sumption community gradually saw a dream become a reality. Last year on April 6, 1983 ground was broken on the land next to the gym. Construction began on the new Campus Center that summer. When students returned in the fall, they witnessed most of the process throughout the semester. On Feb¬ ruary 8, 1984 the center was dedi¬ cated to the benefit of all at AC. This project was a major accom¬ plishment and everyone was im¬ pressed with the new facility. It now houses a greatly expanded bookstore and campus store and a large multipurpose room. The Pub, Junction, SGA, mailroom, student lounge, and Dean of Students of¬ fice are all on the main floor. It also has a game room, wide screen t.v. and bank machine. It has become a meeting place for all and has helped to bring the community closer. The Class of 1984 is very glad to have use of the Campus Center for its last semester here and is very proud of Assumption ' s accomplishment.
