This year provided a greater step than has been seen in a long time with the sending of ten tre- mendous tracksters to the intercollegiate competitions at Guelph and London. Such feature attractions as Dan Cole. Dick O'Connor. Earl Rosenbaum and Hike McDonald all helped to bring the team into a third place finish in intercollegiate competition. Paul Falardeau and Ray Koenig are to he congratulated for their fine jobs. X . ly. X 2 XX W ,

'Illini time r League fkigx i X John LeBel Football Commissioner This yearis intramural pro- gramme under the watchful eyes of John LeBel proved to be one of the biggest year-opening suc- cesses. An unanticipated turnout for all the teams prevailed and the schedule was followed with- out a single game default. The Juniors again provided the superior team somewhat failing public demand but had a hard fight to achieve their laurels. A big rough Senior Team will long be remembered for their defensive work and hard-hitting linemen. The Sophomores featured an All- Star backfield and proved to be an equal to the Seniors in both their contests. The Freshmen, al- though showing lack of exper- ience and power, held their own and did much better than Frosh Teams of the past. Q JUNIORS - CHAMPS lst row, kneeling: Ken Solway.
