RONALD CARR During the school year of 1952-53 Assumption College lost one of its beloved students, Ronald Carr. Ronnie was a very conscientious worker and was never lacking in that spirit of co-operation which is so necessary among the students in a school. For these qualities he has certainly won the esteem of both the staff and his fellow students. Ronnie was devoted to his mother—and with this, I would describe his home life. Many hours spent with Ronnie and his mother left me with indelible memories of this boy’s love for his mother. I started school at Assumption with Ronnie in 1949 and remained in the same class with him until his death in 1952. In our associations I always found him to be a very self-sacrificing, clean living boy,—a boy with all the characteristics of a good Catholic youth. I have never thought of Ronnie’s death as a tragedy. True, he is with us no longer, but that is not a tragedy for Ronnie—for I know that his Creator has called him to his eternal reward. Bill Fox. fv O R I A M LEO GASPARET Leo Gasparet was a student of 10 E during the school year 1950-51. He had been at Assumption for over a year and a half before he became ill. After a few short absences from school he finally became bed-ridden and could not finish his year. His illness gradually became worse and was the cause of his death on December the fourth, 1952. Leo was an A-student as well as an active sportsman. He played house league football in his freshman year and had a keen interest in many sports. Nor were his interests devoted exclusively to sports, for he studied piano for three years and was in training for a post on the Reporter staff. Leo came to Assumption after attending St. Angela, Immaculate Concep¬ tion, and De La Salle schools. He was a member of the church of St. Angela Merici and his ambition was to become a priest. He had many close friends at Assumption who miss him very much. May his soul rest in peace. Jim Kennedy. Page 29 i
