12 AHS'S 25TH HOMECOMING HOMECOMING '82 Homecoming festivities began Oct. 11 with the crowning of The- rese Miller as 1982 Homecoming Queen, making her AHS's 25th queen. The fen candidates Lyn Cabel, Theresa Delvecchio, Lynn Glowacki, Kari Kipf, Mary Ann Mansfield. Therese Miller, Ellen O'Donnell. Mary Timmons, Liz Tinsman and Kathleen Wolfe were chosen the previous week. Mary Ann, Ellen, Mary and Kath- leen were chosen as Therese's at- tendants. Preparations for the week be- gan with hall decorating, float work, planning for the Moss and it was even rumored that the Senior girls were at school at 7:00 a.m. to work on their skit. As time went on red white filled the school and the Varsity football players had their fill of goodies. The all school Mass started Fri- day with AHS's first coordinator, Fr. Amborn, as the homelisf. After Mass, classes were held until if was time for the parade. This years parade was a big success with even the weather cooperat- ing! 1) Queen Therese escorted by Bill Argo, mokes her way to the 50 yord line. 2) And your 1982 Homecoming Queen is 3) Happy Anniversary Papo Roy! WE PRAYED ... WE WON HOMECOMING '82 After the parade, it was pep rally time. Coaches acknowledged the suc- cess of their teams and cheers rang out. Therese spoke on what it meant to be Homecoming Queen. One tradition was updated, the Senior tope being done live, which turned out to be o big success be- cause one could lough without miss- ing anything. The Senior Skit was worth the effort. As A Knight On Broadway, com- plete with top hats and canes pleased the crowd. The class of '83 honored Pape Roy by presenting him a silver plot- ter in recognition of his twenty-five years at AHS. Dan Soer was named KSTT Player of the Week at the rally. On Friday Oct. 15th AHS defeated North Scott 12-6 earning the Knights their first Homecoming victory in four years. Bob Duax scored both times, first time on a punt blocked by the defense and the second came on a John Klein poss with no time remain- ing on the clock at the half. 1) You CAN smile girlsl 2) Morgoret Mester.
